A top drawer German manufacturer from the time of the Kaiser. Built along the same lines as the battleships that fought at Jutland this instrument can be considered a survivor. Modern central heating has been unkind to traditional British pianos and many have fallen by the wayside. However plenty of these Tuetonic instruments have made it through, and although can’t compete with modern offerings in boring areas like tone, touch and response certainly have the edge when it comes to looks. This example even has what look to be original candle holders in the Art Nouveau style.
